Patriotic Provo

It’s July! And that means patriotism at its finest will be found in Provo Utah.

Provo, by Eric Dowdle

I chose to showcase Eric’s painting of the community of Provo because of their mutual love of family and country. This city features America’s Freedom Festival at Provo, which is one of America’s premier patriotic celebrations. Seriously! The whole world should come here in July. I think many of them do.

In my opinion, the Festival’s most popular events are The Stadium of Fire, The Balloon Fest, and the Grand Parade. There’s so much to do that I don’t mind being corrected though … so bring it on! Tell me something else amazing you’ve done.

This year, American Idol’s Scotty McCreery will be performing for the Stadium of Fire, as well as the Beach Boys. They always book the best!

Take some time and look close for some traditional Provo icons in this fun Dowdle painting. There’s an old fashioned parade, a variety of hot air balloons (love the T-Rex), The BYU Campus with their Y on the mountain and Lavell Edward’s Stadium. (Ya’ll know Eric just finished an amazing painting of this stadium, right?)

As a child Eric had a dream to one day live in Provo, where he believed, “all the best and happiest people must live”. We live close to Provo. Maybe one day we’ll make the move!

Like Eric, Provo stands strong for our traditional American values of family, freedom, God, and country.
