Have you ever picked a fresh pineapple from the Dole Plantation in Hawaii?
Well, if you’re picking them, you’re reaching down to do it. Did you know that pineapples don’t grow on trees!? I know. Neither did … um … Eric.
Well, there’s a plethora of pineapple happiness to be found at the Dole Plantation found 30-45 minutes inland from Honolulu, Oahu. The very best part about the tour is trying a fresh pineapple (picked from the ground) and of course, their famous pineapple icecream. So sweet and fresh!
According to Mike Moon, Director of Operations at the plantation, you can also enjoy the maze (made from Hawaiian foliage) or take a 20-minute train ride to experience plantation living. I personally liked the gift shop where I found the greatest pineapple colored earrings. Still love them! (No, they’re not shaped like pineapples.)
